Date: 2011-2012 School Year

Evidence/activity/anecdote: Demonstrating knowledge of students is and ongoing year long process. I start the school year with some surveys to get to know the students on a personal as well as a academic level. Also at the beginning of the year DRA and MAP results help guide my instruction. I also use pretests throughout the year as we start new math units. In science and Social Studies for each unit the students do a title page that has a section about what they already know about the subject.

Impact on student’s learning: All of these things help inform my teaching and help me differentiate and meet the needs of all of my students. it also helps me form a personal relationships with my students.
